Paddleboarding in Dubai: What You Need to Know

Expect calm, flat water and impressive views of skyscrapers and artificial islands like the Palm. Most sessions last 1–2 hours and include basic instruction if you’re new. You’ll paddle alongside luxury hotels and yachts; the experience feels surprisingly peaceful despite the city backdrop. Water is warm year-round, but the sun is intense and the views can be hazy in summer. It’s a gentle workout with plenty of photo ops—think floating in front of the Atlantis or looking back at the Burj Al Arab.

Best time is December to March when it’s cooler (mid-20s°C) and less humid. From April onward it gets brutally hot; summer sessions (June–September) are possible but feel like paddling in a sauna. Expect to pay around $60–110 per person for a standard guided session including board, paddle, and life jacket. Private or longer tours push toward the higher end.

Tip: choose a morning slot to avoid the worst heat and crowds. Skip the cheapest no-instruction rentals if you’ve never paddled before—falling into warm saltwater sounds fun until you’re drifting toward a marina with no idea how to get back. Book something with a guide for the first time; it’s more relaxing and you’ll actually learn how to steer.
