This is a half-day boat trip that takes you from Nassau to a private island with decent reef snorkeling and a beach day. Expect a 20-30 minute cruise out, 45-60 minutes of guided snorkeling on a shallow reef, then several hours to swim, relax on the sand, and eat a Bahamian lunch (usually grilled fish, rice, peas, and sides). The reef is healthy enough for beginners but not a world-class wall dive; you’ll see parrotfish, sergeant majors, rays, and the occasional turtle if you’re lucky. It’s popular, so the boat can feel crowded on peak days.
Best time is December through April when the water is calmest and visibility is usually 30-50 ft. Summer and hurricane season (June-Nov) can bring rougher seas and lower clarity. Expect to pay around $130–$190 per adult including transport from downtown Nassau, snorkel gear, lunch, and drinks. Kids are cheaper.
Tip: Book the version that includes the Bahamian lunch; the food is genuinely good and saves you from overpriced onboard snacks. Skip the add-on “premium” open bar if you’re not a big drinker — you get plenty of water and a couple of beers or rum punches included anyway. Bring your own reef-safe sunscreen, a waterproof phone case, and a towel if they don’t provide one.
