Should You Tour RCA Studio B in Nashville?

The RCA Studio B tour is a straightforward 45-minute look inside the historic recording space where Elvis, Dolly, and a huge chunk of classic country and rock hits were cut. You ride a small bus from the Country Music Hall of Fame, walk through the studio, see the original control room, and hear stories about how those records were made. It’s calm, a bit nerdy, and genuinely interesting if you like music history. The experience is self-guided with an audio tour or small group with a guide—expect to stand, listen, and take photos where allowed. It pairs naturally with a visit to the Hall of Fame since the combo ticket gets you both.

Best time to go is fall or spring when Nashville isn’t blistering hot or slammed with summer tourists. Midweek mornings tend to have smaller groups and shorter waits. Expect to pay around $50–$60 per adult for the combo ticket that includes Hall of Fame entry; kids are cheaper, under-5s usually free. The single studio tour without the museum is rarely sold on its own.

Honest tip: Do the combo if you have any interest in the museum at all—it’s excellent and makes the total experience feel worth the money. Skip it if you’re short on time or only want the quick Instagram version of Music Row; the outside of the building is forgettable and the real value is the interior stories. Wear comfortable shoes—you’ll do some walking between the museum and the bus.
