Segway Tours in Tel Aviv: Worth It?

A Segway tour lets you cover a surprising amount of Tel Aviv in two to three hours without getting sweaty. You’ll glide along the beach promenade, through parts of Jaffa, past the port, and through some of the city’s livelier neighborhoods. Expect a quick training session (it’s easier than it looks), then you ride in a small group of 6–12 people following a guide who points out landmarks and shares context. The experience feels more like a casual rolling conversation than a structured tour. It’s fun if you enjoy being outdoors and want to see a lot without walking all day, but it can feel a bit touristy and the Segway itself becomes the main event rather than the city.

Best time is spring (March–May) or fall (October–November) when it’s warm but not brutally hot. Summer midday tours are rough in the Tel Aviv heat; aim for early morning or late afternoon. Expect to pay around $60–95 per person depending on tour length and group size. One honest tip: pick a tour that focuses on the beach and Jaffa route — it’s the most enjoyable and has the best views. Skip anything that promises to take you deep into narrow streets of the city center; the Segway isn’t ideal there and you’ll spend more time stopping and starting than actually riding.
