Tel Aviv’s Mediterranean coast offers calm, shallow water perfect for beginners and relaxed paddling. Expect a straightforward experience: warm sea most of the year, easy launches from the sand, and views of the city skyline and Jaffa. Sessions usually last 1–2 hours. The water is generally flat in the mornings, though afternoon winds can pick up and make things choppier. It’s a fun, low-impact way to get on the water without needing previous experience—most operators provide brief instruction and stable boards.
The best time is spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) when the sea is warm, crowds are lighter, and winds tend to be milder. Summer works too but gets very hot and busy. Expect to pay around $25–45 for a standard guided session or rental; longer tours or yoga classes sit at the higher end. Private lessons cost more.
Pick a calm morning session if it’s your first time—skip SUP yoga unless you’re already confident on the board. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and water; the sun is intense even on cloudy days. If the forecast shows strong westerly winds, reschedule or you’ll spend more time fighting the chop than enjoying the ride.
