Should You Visit Sunder Nursery in Delhi?

Sunder Nursery is a calm, well-kept Mughal-style garden park right next to Humayun’s Tomb. Expect peaceful lawns, restored pavilions, small water channels, and decent birdlife. It’s more relaxed than the bigger tourist sites and works well as a gentle add-on rather than a full standalone destination. You can easily spend 1.5–3 hours here strolling, sitting under trees, or having a quiet picnic. The site is clean, shaded in parts, and feels surprisingly green for central Delhi. It gets light-to-moderate crowds on weekends but stays pleasant on weekdays.

Best time is October to March when the weather is cool and the gardens look their freshest. Avoid April–September; the heat and humidity make it far less enjoyable. Expect to pay around ₹300–600 per person if you combine it with Humayun’s Tomb (most sensible option). Solo entry is cheaper but you’ll still need transport to get there. One honest tip: definitely visit the nursery section and the lake area, but you can comfortably skip the small on-site café and overpriced souvenir shops. Pair it with Humayun’s Tomb in the morning, then relax here afterwards when the light is softer.
