Ziplining in Mauritius: Worth It?

Expect a mix of adrenaline and scenery: you'll fly over forested valleys and gorges on several zip lines ranging from short warm-ups to longer runs around 400m each. A typical session lasts 45-90 minutes including briefing, harness fitting, and walking between platforms. The experience feels safe and well-managed but involves some hiking between lines and waiting your turn in small groups. It's more fun than extreme – great views of tropical greenery, occasional wildlife, and that stomach-drop sensation on the bigger ones. Heights reach up to 80m above the ground.

Best time is the dry season from May to November when rain is less likely and trails are less slippery. December to April can be humid with afternoon showers that sometimes cancel or delay tours. Expect to pay around $70–$110 per person depending on whether you choose the shorter signature course or the longer family-friendly package with 6–7 lines. Kids usually have lower rates.

Honest tip: go for the longer 6- or 7-line option if you're reasonably fit – the short version feels over too quickly. Skip combining it with other heavy activities the same day; you'll want energy for the walks between platforms and the final big drop. Wear closed shoes and quick-dry clothes.
