St. Johann Nepomuk, known as the Asam Church, is a Baroque church built between 1733 and 1746 by brothers Egid Quirin Asam and Cosmas Damian Asam as their private chapel, now open to the public. Visitors can experience masterful Late Baroque architecture and art compressed into a small 22 by 8 meter space, featuring a ceiling fresco by Cosmas Damian Asam depicting the Life of Saint Nepomuk, innovative indirect lighting, and a high altar with four spiral columns referencing St. Peter's in Rome.
