A monumental cathedral built primarily with white volcanic stone (sillar) and featuring neoclassical architecture, occupying the entire north side of Arequipa's Plaza de Armas. Visitors can see its distinctive 70 Corinthian columns, ornate wooden pulpit carved in France, Belgian organ (one of the largest in South America), and Carrara marble altar. The cathedral also houses religious artwork, European wood carvings, and gold and diamond treasures.
