Dolmabahçe Palace is a 19th-century imperial palace located in Istanbul along the Bosporus, built between 1843 and 1853 as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. The palace contains 285 rooms across 45,000 square meters and is extensively decorated with 14 tonnes of gold leaf and the world's largest crystal chandelier, showcasing a blend of European Baroque and Rococo styles with Ottoman architecture. Visitors can tour the palace, which is now a museum managed by Turkey's Directorate of National Palaces and was the site where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey, spent his final days.
