
The Coastal Heritage Preserve protects approximately 1,400 acres of contiguous coastal habitats on West Galveston Island, including interior island ecosystems and living shoreline along West Galveston Bay. Visitors can experience coastal prairie, freshwater wetlands, and an estuary of national significance, with planned future amenities including trails, boardwalks, viewing platforms, kayak access, and an environmental education center.
