
High Point Conservation Area features the highest glaciated point in Illinois at 1,189 feet above sea level, encompassing 257 acres of oak and hickory savanna and ephemeral wetlands. Visitors hike roughly 1.25 miles of looped nature trails to observe 52 bird species including Sandhill Cranes, Baltimore Orioles, and barred owls, plus amphibians and native wildflowers in restored meadows and woodlands.
