The Kutubiyya Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh, an important example of Almohad architecture completed between 1158 and 1195, distinguished by its 77-meter minaret decorated with geometric arch motifs that inspired other notable buildings like the Giralda of Seville. Located near the Jemaa el-Fnaa market and flanked by gardens, visitors can observe the minaret which is a major landmark of Marrakesh, and on the mosque's esplanade, view the ruins of the original mosque and remains of the Ksar al-Hajjar fortress.
