Manneken Pis is a 55.5 cm bronze fountain sculpture depicting a nude boy urinating, originally created in 1619 by sculptor Jérôme Duquesnoy the Elder and redesigned multiple times throughout its history. Visitors see a replica of this iconic Brussels landmark, one of Belgium's most recognizable symbols, which is regularly dressed in costumes from a wardrobe of around one thousand different outfits. The statue has served as a water fountain since at least the mid-15th century and remains a famous example of Brussels folk humor and Belgian cultural identity.
