
Margaret Island is a 2.5 km long island in the middle of the Danube River in central Budapest, mostly covered by landscape parks and medieval ruins from its importance as a religious center in the Middle Ages. Visitors come to enjoy recreational activities including the Palatinus water park, swimming pools, tennis stadium, a 5.35 km running track, and sights such as the Art Nouveau Water Tower, Music Fountain with light shows, Japanese Garden, and open-air theatre.
