Walk a black-sand coastal trail through a living Fijian village to a twin waterfall reached by a short swim. This is the walk locals actually take visiting friends on.
What to expect
The trail hugs the coast for about 5km, alternating between jungle canopy and open black-sand beach, before ending at a river crossing you wade or are paddled across. A short swim through a narrow gorge brings you to the base of Wainibau Falls, often with nobody else there. Guides from the village share plant lore and village history along the way.
Good to know
Wear reef shoes for the river sections; bring dry bag for camera. Round trip takes 3-4 hours — start early to avoid midday heat and allow buffer before returning to ship.
