Charter a small boat to the cliffs and turquoise coves of Cap Formentor at the quiet morning hour, before the road traffic and day-trippers arrive. Swim in hidden calas reachable only by water.
What to expect
You board at Port d'Alcúdia marina and cruise past the Alcanada lighthouse before rounding into the dramatic limestone cliffs of Formentor. The skipper anchors in secluded bays for swimming and snorkeling, well away from the anchor lines of larger tour boats. Lunch can be arranged aboard with local cheese, cured meats and cava. You return relaxed, sun-warmed, having seen the coastline the way islanders do.
Good to know
Book 2-3 weeks ahead in peak season; departs from the marina a short taxi from the cruise berth. Build in return by early afternoon to comfortably beat all-aboard.
