A rare early-access climb up one of Kampen's historic towers before the town wakes, arranged privately with the church custodian for uncrowded rooftop views over the rivers and rooftops.
What to expect
You'll climb a tight spiral stair — narrow and a genuine workout — emerging onto a small platform with a sweeping view over Kampen's tiled rooftops, the IJssel bend, and the flat polder land beyond. In early light, with mist still on the river, it's a genuinely different town than the one at midday. The custodian shares a bit of the tower's bell and clock mechanism history on the way up.
Good to know
Requires advance email arrangement — this isn't a standard bookable slot. Not suitable for anyone with mobility limitations or a fear of tight stairwells.
