What to expect
A scenic 1-hour drive north of Zadar delivers you to the put-in point on the Zrmanja, where your expert river guide fits you with a wetsuit, helmet, and paddle. The river winds through soaring limestone walls draped in greenery, past the famous Bergud waterfall where you can leap into the pool below. Sections of gentle floating alternate with exhilarating small rapids, and the translucent turquoise water reveals the river bed metres below. A barbecue lunch on the canyon bank caps the experience before the drive back to Zadar.
