Half-Day Fishing & Coastal Cooking Experience

Head out with a local skipper into the North Sea skerries to fish for mackerel, pollack and cod, then return to a harbourside kitchen where a Norwegian chef transforms your catch into a beautiful coastal meal. From sea to plate in under four hours — utterly memorable.

What to expect

A compact wooden fishing vessel departs from Stavanger harbour and navigates the islands and skerries of the Ryfylke coast where local families have fished for centuries. Rods, bait and technique coaching are all provided — beginners land fish within minutes in these prolific waters. Back ashore, a chef guides you in filleting, curing and cooking your haul: pan-fried catch with local butter, fresh herbs and bread, paired with Norwegian aquavit or craft beer. The meal is eaten together at a long table with the harbour as your backdrop.
