Yonaha Maehama Beach: Private Cabana & Crystal-Sea Snorkel

Sink your toes into Japan's finest white-sand beach — voted best in the country — then slip into impossibly clear, shallow turquoise water to snorkel coral gardens alive with tropical fish. A private cabana and dedicated attendant make this a genuinely luxurious half-day.

What to expect

Your private driver delivers you to Yonaha Maehama at the quietest morning hour, when the 7 km of powder-white sand is almost deserted. A certified local snorkel guide leads you through staghorn coral gardens and schools of parrotfish in water so clear you can see the seabed in 5 m. Back on the beach, a reserved parasol-and-sunbed set with chilled Okinawan awamori cocktails awaits. The afternoon light turns the sea an impossible shade of jade before your return transfer.

Good to know

Beach is a 30-min drive from Hirara Port; pre-book the cabana setup at least 48 hrs ahead. All-aboard is typically 17:00–18:00 — a morning start leaves plenty of buffer. Reef shoes recommended; guide provides snorkel gear.
