What to expect
Arrive at a domed 18th-century bathhouse, its marble heated by the same hypocaust system used for two centuries. Wrapped in a traditional peştemal (linen cloth), you recline on the warm göbek taşı (central marble slab) as steam fills the chamber. A skilled tellak uses a kese mitt to slough away dead skin, then lathers you in mountains of olive-oil foam before a firm, flowing massage eases every knot. Cool down in the relaxation room with pomegranate juice and a towel the size of a sail.
Good to know
The hammam is a 10-minute taxi ride from the cruise port. Sessions last 45–90 minutes; book the private suite in advance, especially in peak season (Jun–Sep). Avoid a heavy meal immediately beforehand.
