What to expect
The 4-hour round trip takes you into Cape Cod Bay and out to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, where humpback whales breach and lunge-feed with dramatic regularity between May and October. On-board naturalists identify individual whales by their unique tail flukes, giving each encounter genuine scientific depth. Atlantic white-sided dolphins and seabirds often join the spectacle. The return sail past Plymouth Harbour is a beautiful way to close the morning.

Tours depart from Town Wharf — a 5-minute walk from the tender landing. Morning departures (typically 9–10 am) run approximately 3.5–4 hours, fitting comfortably before a late-afternoon all-aboard. Book as early as possible; peak-season sailings fill weeks out. Take motion-sickness precautions if susceptible; open-ocean swells can be brisk.
