Glide along the Moselle aboard a small panoramic vessel, drifting past ribbon-thin vineyard terraces, medieval villages, and the grand wine estates that define this UNESCO-worthy valley. The river's finest perspective, seen from the water.
What to expect
Departing from the Bernkastel riverside promenade, the boat winds downriver through some of the Moselle's most photogenic bends, passing the grand Wehlener Sonnenuhr sundial vineyard marker and the steeply terraced Bernkasteler Doctor site — among the world's most valuable vineyard land. Commentary (available in English) identifies each village, estate, and geological feature. The vessel turns at Mülheim or Lieser, offering a completely different perspective on the return leg as the light shifts across the slate. The 60-minute loop is perfectly calibrated for a port call.
Good to know
Boats depart from the main Bernkastel landing stage, metres from the cruise dock. Check the daily sailing schedule at the KD agency kiosk on arrival; tickets can be purchased on site or online. Confirm the 1-hour option to protect all-aboard time.
