Step inside one of Scandinavia's greatest art museums and walk through Olafur Eliasson's iconic rainbow panorama skywalk — a bucket-list moment above the Aarhus skyline. A private expert guide unlocks the masterworks floor by floor.
What to expect
Your guide meets you at the striking cube-shaped building and leads you through nine levels of Danish and international art, from the haunting 'Boy' sculpture to immersive contemporary installations. The crescendo is the rooftop Your Rainbow Panorama — a 150-metre circular walkway of coloured glass where Aarhus dissolves into spectrum light around you. Afterwards, the museum café serves excellent open-faced smørrebrød with harbour views. Allow a minimum of two hours to do the collection justice.
Good to know
ARoS is a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride from the cruise terminal. Book timed entry online in advance — the rainbow walkway sells out on summer days. The museum closes on Mondays; confirm your port day aligns. All-aboard is typically late afternoon, leaving comfortable time.
