Escape the Giza crowds entirely and explore Saqqara — Egypt's oldest stone monument and the world's first pyramid — plus the ancient capital of Memphis on an exclusive private tour. Fewer tourists, deeper history, pure awe.
What to expect
Your private Egyptologist and air-conditioned vehicle collect you at the port and head south to Saqqara, where Imhotep's revolutionary Step Pyramid rises from the desert. You descend into mastaba tombs adorned with 4,500-year-old reliefs, then visit the Serapeum's vast underground galleries housing the massive granite Apis bull sarcophagi. A stop at the open-air museum of Memphis reveals colossal statues of Ramesses II, before a leisurely lunch at a quality local restaurant on the return.
Good to know
Journey time is ~2.5 hours each way — slightly shorter than Giza. Allow 12–13 hours total. Photography permits for some tombs must be purchased on-site in EGP. Book well in advance in peak Mediterranean cruise season (April–October).
