Between November and April, humpback whales migrate through Cabo's waters in extraordinary numbers. A small-group expedition with a marine naturalist guide puts you alongside breaching giants in their element — profoundly bucket-list.
What to expect
Aboard a nimble, small-group boat, you head into the rich waters where the Pacific and Sea of Cortez converge — one of the world's most productive marine corridors. Your naturalist guide reads whale behaviour, positioning the vessel for breath-taking surface displays: tail flukes, breaches, and pec-slaps just metres away. On clear days, dolphins and mobula rays often join the journey. Hot beverages and binoculars are provided. Note: seasonal November–April only — a genuinely rare, time-sensitive privilege.
Good to know
Strictly seasonal: November through April only. Tours depart Marina Cabo San Lucas — a short water taxi from the tender pier. Duration is approx. 2.5 hours; book the earliest morning departure for the calmest seas and most active whale behaviour. Pre-book online; this is one of Cabo's fastest-selling seasonal experiences.
