Dive into the legendary Lagoa Azul — a natural aquarium of electric-blue water and rainbow reef fish — then drift through the Ilhas Botinas aquarium, one of the richest marine ecosystems in the South Atlantic.
What to expect
Your boat threads through a labyrinth of jungled islets before anchoring in the luminescent shallows of Lagoa Azul, where visibility stretches to 10 metres. The Ilhas Botinas stop is a protected zone teeming with juvenile reef species sheltering beneath coral heads. The guide provides a marine ecology briefing before each snorkel, transforming a swim into a genuine wildlife encounter. Fresh tropical fruit and a light lunch are served at anchor.
Good to know
Reef-safe sunscreen is strongly recommended (and in some areas required) to protect the protected marine zones. Snorkel gear is provided but bring your own mask if you prefer a perfect fit. Departs from Angra marina — short taxi ride or walk from the cruise berth.
