Enter the actual home of Laskarina Bouboulina — Greece's legendary female admiral and independence heroine — on a guided tour led by a descendant of the family. Rare archival artefacts, original furnishings, and stories no guidebook contains.
What to expect
The 19th-century mansion sits just off the Dapia waterfront, its grand stone staircase and carved-wood ceilings intact as Bouboulina left them. Family guides walk you through the admiral's personal quarters, her weapons and naval charts, Ottoman gold coins seized in battle, and the portrait that made her an international icon of liberation. The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and is conducted with scholarly warmth. Afterwards, linger in the courtyard where the family still hosts cultural events under a canopy of jasmine.
Good to know
Tours run on the half-hour; the museum can accommodate private group sessions for larger parties — contact them directly by email. It is a 3-minute walk from the Dapia tender/ferry dock. Closed Mondays in low season; confirm hours before sailing.
