Venture into the rolling Pampa countryside surrounding Rio Grande for a fully immersive private day at a working Gaucho estância — horseback riding, traditional churrasco feast, and an authentic chimarrão ceremony hosted by a genuine Gaucho family.
What to expect
A private transfer whisks you 45 minutes into the Pampa, where you are welcomed with a traditional chimarrão (bitter gourd tea) ceremony by your Gaucho hosts. Saddle up on well-trained crioulo horses and ride through the open grasslands as gauchos have for centuries, your guide sharing the mythology and pride of the Pampeiro way of life. Return to the estância for a slow-fire churrasco lunch of prime southern beef cuts, paired with local wines from the Serra Gaúcha. The afternoon is spent learning boleadeira throwing, traditional leather craft, and the stories behind the iconic Gaucho bombachas and poncho.
Good to know
Confirm pickup time carefully against your ship's all-aboard — allow a 60-minute return buffer. Transfer is included in most private bookings. Riding is beginner-friendly but inform the operator of any riding restrictions when booking.
