Step behind the velvet rope of Fiji's finest pearl farm — J. Hunter Pearls — for a private guided tour of the breeding lagoons, grafting studios, and harvest process that produces some of the world's most coveted Civa pearls.
What to expect
The tour opens with a walk along the farm's floating nursery lines, where tens of thousands of pearl oysters hang suspended in the bay's warm, plankton-rich water. Expert staff demonstrate the delicate grafting procedure under magnification — a surgical art that fewer than a hundred people in the world have mastered. You then move to the harvest and sorting room, where finished pearls are graded by luster, nacre thickness, and orient in natural light. The experience concludes in the showroom, where strands, pendants, and loose gems are laid out for private viewing.
