Swim with Wild Australian Sea Lions — Swim & Snorkel Expedition

Slip into the glittering Spencer Gulf alongside wild, playful Australian sea lions — one of the rarest pinnipeds on earth — at their natural haul-out. Underwater, they barrel-roll and nuzzle in a ballet that defies belief. Pure, joyful wildlife magic.

What to expect

A short scenic boat ride from Port Lincoln brings you to the rocky outcrops where the colony basks. After a briefing and wetsuit fitting, you enter the water and within moments inquisitive juveniles are spinning around you, peering into your mask. The water is clear and the light at this latitude is extraordinary. Snorkel equipment, wetsuits, and a marine naturalist guide are included.

Good to know

Half-day (~4 hours). No dive certification required; basic swimming ability sufficient. Wetsuits provided. Pre-booking essential — this is a perennial sell-out, especially on cruise ship days. Aligns well with morning departures, leaving the afternoon free before all-aboard.
