Step inside the untouched wilderness retreat of Tsar Alexander III, where Russia's most powerful ruler escaped to fish the Kymi River. This storied log lodge in an ancient rapid landscape is one of Finland's most atmospheric imperial sites.
What to expect
Your expert guide leads you through the beautifully preserved 19th-century log lodge, its rooms left almost exactly as the imperial family knew them. Outside, ancient rapids thunder past pine forest in a UNESCO-recognised landscape. In season, salmon still surge through the same waters the tsar fished. The atmosphere — remote, silent, regal — is utterly unlike anything else in the Baltic.
Good to know
Langinkoski is around 5 km from Kotka port — a short taxi or arranged transfer. The lodge museum is seasonal (typically May–September). Pre-book a guided slot with Eramys for the full private experience. Ample time to return well before all-aboard.
