Cu Chi Tunnels: Private Half-Day with Expert War Historian

Descend into the legendary 250km wartime tunnel network used by Viet Cong fighters, guided by a specialist historian who brings the ingenuity and sacrifice of the era to vivid life. Crawl through restored passages, examine booby traps, and emerge with a profound, unfiltered understanding of Vietnam's defining conflict.

What to expect

Your private air-conditioned vehicle collects you at Phu My port and transfers you ~2 hours to the Cu Chi complex. Your guide walks you through the outdoor weapons displays, live firing range, and the tunnel network itself. You'll have the option to crawl a 40-metre restored section — claustrophobically authentic, yet safe. The return journey is timed precisely to your all-aboard.

Good to know

Phu My port is ~90 min from Ho Chi Minh City; Cu Chi is ~30 min beyond that. A private tour is essential to make this work within port hours. Book at least 2 weeks in advance; confirm your ship's all-aboard time with the operator so the transfer schedule is built around it. Wear light, dark-coloured clothing — the tunnels are earthy.
