What to expect
You'll gather at a traditional hacienda courtyard where a curandera blesses the volcanic stones (abuela rocks) before they're placed in the earth lodge. Crawling inside the low, dark dome, you'll experience waves of aromatic steam infused with eucalyptus, copal, and medicinal herbs as the healer leads breathing meditations, chants, and guided intention-setting. Emerge cleansed and exhilarated, then cool down with fresh fruit and herbal teas. A brief cultural talk on Mayan cosmology and the role of the Temazcal follows.

Not suitable for guests with heart conditions, claustrophobia, or who are pregnant. Duration ~2.5 hours including the cooling and tea ceremony. Wear a swimsuit beneath a light wrap. Completely unique to this region — book at least 2 weeks ahead for a private session.
