Plunge into the electric blue of the Marquesas Sea for a small-boat dive among schooling hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and endemic fish at remote pinnacles rarely visited by outsiders. Utterly world-class, utterly wild.
What to expect
Divers are collected by rigid inflatable from the tender dock and whisked to offshore pinnacles where upwellings draw extraordinary concentrations of pelagic life. Scalloped hammerheads are a near-certain sighting, along with grey reef sharks, eagle rays, and dense schools of endemic Marquesan fish found nowhere else on earth. The crew maintains very small groups per guide, ensuring unhurried, respectful wildlife encounters. Surface intervals are spent drifting in turquoise water with views of Nuku Hiva's dramatic volcanic cliffs.
Good to know
Open-water certification required; advanced certification recommended. Confirm dive times align with your all-aboard. Nuku Dive can often accommodate same-day bookings but pre-booking from the ship's WiFi is strongly advised. Bring your own dive computer if possible.
