Paddle through the dramatic sea-cliff coastline below the medieval hilltop village of Brsec — a stretch of wild Kvarner shore reachable only by kayak, with caves, arches and pebble coves hidden from the road above. One of the most exhilarating half-days on the entire Adriatic.
What to expect
A qualified sea-kayak guide briefs you at the launch point near Moscenicka Draga and fits you with a comfortable touring kayak. You paddle south beneath towering limestone cliffs, ducking into sea caves where the light turns cathedral-green and the water glows aquamarine. A swim stop at a secret pebble beach is the natural halfway point before you round the headland and paddle back with the Istrian mountains as your backdrop. The total paddle is 8–12 km depending on pace — challenging but deeply rewarding for moderately fit adventurers.
Good to know
Transfer from Opatija port to the launch point is approximately 20 minutes by taxi; arrange this in advance. Tours typically run 09:00–13:00 — well within port hours.
