Jinshitan — 'Golden Stone Beach' — is a UNESCO-listed national geopark where 10,000-year-old wave-sculpted limestone formations erupt from a golden shoreline. A private half-day here combines geological wonder with exhilarating coastal exploration.
What to expect
Arrive at a shoreline that looks sculpted by a fever dream: columns, arches, and grottos of ancient limestone rising from the pebbled beach in impossible shapes. Your guide leads you along the coastal trail explaining how millennia of Bohai Sea erosion created these formations, then gives you free time to explore tide pools, clamber the rocks, or simply sit with the sea. On clear days the Yellow Sea shimmer is extraordinary.
Good to know
Allow 4–5 hours door-to-door from port. Depart by 09:00 for best light and to beat day-trippers. Sturdy shoes essential — surfaces are uneven. Check seasonal weather; spring and autumn offer the most dramatic skies.
