Pedal the Feniglia tombolo — a 7 km pine-shaded sandbar linking Monte Argentario to the mainland — on a private e-bike, with the turquoise lagoon on one side and the Tyrrhenian on the other. Utterly effortless, absurdly beautiful.
What to expect
You set off along the Feniglia nature reserve, a flat, car-free pinewood path famed for its resident fallow deer and nesting birds. The guide leads you to panoramic viewpoints over the Orbetello lagoon — winter home to thousands of flamingos — and along the wild Tyrrhenian shoreline where the sand is white and the water impossibly clear. The e-bike makes even the gentle Argentario inclines feel effortless, and a stop for local Maremma snacks at a clifftop point is built into the route.
