Bay of Algeciras: Small-Group Whale & Dolphin Watching

The Strait of Gibraltar is one of Earth's premier cetacean corridors — sperm whales, orcas, fin whales, and three dolphin species pass through regularly. A small-group specialist boat puts you intimate with giants of the deep right from your home port.

What to expect

Departing from Tarifa (30 min from Algeciras), FIRMM's research vessel heads into the strait where Atlantic meets Mediterranean, creating a nutrient-rich superhighway for marine life. Expert marine biologists narrate live as common dolphins bow-ride your hull, and if the season is right (spring–autumn), pilot whales and majestic sperm whales surface to breathe. Excursions last 2.5–4 hours and carry a sighting guarantee — if no cetaceans are seen, you sail again for free. This is responsible, expert-led wildlife watching at its finest.
