Hundreds of free-roaming Konik horses, red deer, and Heck cattle graze as if the modern world has ceased to exist. The birdlife — marsh harriers, white-tailed eagles, and vast flocks of geese — is extraordinary. Depending on season, guided cycling or walking variants are also available; the horseback option delivers an especially immersive, intimate encounter.

The reserve is ~5km from the Felison Terminal — a short taxi ride. Book a specialist guided experience through Guided Tour Holland or a local nature operator to ensure access to the best wildlife zones; independent entry is possible but unguided visitors see far less. The reserve is open year-round; spring and autumn offer the most dramatic wildlife encounters. Allow 2–3 hours.
