Witness one of Norway's great natural spectacles: wild Atlantic salmon leaping the thundering Kvåsfossen falls, then go behind the scenes at the world-class Laksestudio to observe the full lifecycle beneath the surface. A rare encounter with Norway's most celebrated fish.
What to expect
The Laksevåg river roars through lush green gorge as you approach Kvåsfossen — in season, silver salmon arc powerfully against the current in front of you. Inside the award-winning Norsk Villaksenter, cutting-edge exhibits and a submerged viewing studio bring you face-to-face with salmon in their natural habitat. Expert naturalist guides provide context on Norway's battle to protect wild salmon stocks, making this as intellectually engaging as it is visually stunning. The surrounding walking trail along the riverbank is beautiful and perfectly peaceful.
