Glide silently into the world's most celebrated fjord aboard a hybrid-electric vessel, drifting beneath the Seven Sisters and Bridal Veil waterfalls in near-total quiet. A UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece seen from the water.
What to expect
The 90-minute drive from Ålesund port through mountain passes already delivers extraordinary scenery before you even board. Once on the fjord, the boat slips beneath sheer 1,400-metre granite walls draped in ribbons of white water — the Seven Sisters on one side, the Suitor's solitary fall answering from the other. Farm hamlets cling impossibly to ledges above you, accessible only by rope in past centuries. The return journey is equally scenic, arriving back in Ålesund with time to spare.
Good to know
The full Ålesund–Geiranger round trip takes approximately 7–8 hours; confirm against your ship's all-aboard time. Book the boat segment in advance for peak summer (June–August). Layers are essential — fjord air is cool even in midsummer.
