Cat Park is basically Kennedy Park in Miraflores, overrun with friendly, well-fed stray and semi-owned cats that lounge on benches, paths, and grass. Expect a mix of locals and tourists feeding them kibble or cat food sold by vendors. The cats are mostly relaxed and used to people, but it's still a public park so you'll see families, street performers, and plenty of pigeons competing for attention. It's not a zoo or sanctuary – just an urban park that happens to have dozens of cats living in it. The surrounding area is lively with cafes, markets, and the Malecón cliffs nearby, so it pairs easily with a Miraflores walk.
Best time is early morning (before 10am) or late afternoon when it's cooler and the cats are more active. Avoid midday heat, especially December to March when Lima is humid and sticky. Expect to pay around $5-15 total – a few soles for cat food if you want to feed them, plus whatever you spend on coffee or snacks in the neighborhood. Guides sometimes include it as a quick stop on walking or bike tours.
Pick up a small bag of cat food from a vendor if you want the full experience, but skip trying to pet every cat – many prefer their space. Don't bring your own food for them; the vendors know what they need. Watch your bag and phone – petty theft happens here like anywhere busy in Lima.
