Most Nadi cave tours are actually adventure packages that combine ziplining, abseiling (rappelling), and a relatively short cave exploration section. Expect to spend 4–6 hours total. The caves themselves are limestone, cool and damp, with some tight sections, small underground pools, and basic stalactites. The real highlight for many is the 5–16 ziplines that run through canyons with ocean views before or after the caves. It's more adventure park than pure caving. The guides are generally safety-focused and the gear is modern, but the experience is quite physical and you'll get wet and muddy.
The best time is the dry season from May to October when trails are less slippery and river levels are lower. November to April is hotter, wetter, and the caves can flood after heavy rain, causing cancellations. Expect to pay around $150–$280 per person depending on whether it includes zipline only, full combo with abseiling, transport from your resort, and a meal. Tours with just cave tubing or basic cave walks are cheaper but less common from Nadi.
Pick the full zipline-plus-cave package if you want the complete adrenaline day; it's the most popular for a reason. Skip the abseiling add-on if you're not comfortable with heights or have any knee/back issues — the caves and ziplines are plenty. Bring water shoes or sturdy sandals that can get wet, quick-dry clothes, and a change of clothes for the ride back. Most people enjoy it, but it's not a relaxing cultural cave tour.
