Expect two floors of interactive exhibits: original manuscripts, Chopin’s letters, his piano, and personal items. The audio guide (included with most tickets) is actually good and lets you listen to pieces while reading context. It’s calm and intellectual rather than flashy – perfect if you enjoy classical music or want a quiet break from the Old Town crowds. Most visitors spend 60–90 minutes. It can feel a bit dry if you’re not into Chopin at all.

Best time is spring or early autumn on a weekday morning. Summers get busy and the palace lacks strong air-conditioning. Expect to pay around 25–40 PLN for a standard ticket; combined or family options push it toward 60–80 PLN. Skip-the-line tickets are worth it only on weekends or during Chopin festivals.

Tip: Take the audio guide and focus on the top floor where the pianos and manuscripts are – that’s the heart of it. You can safely skip the basement temporary exhibits unless something specific interests you.
