The main fountain shows are free, spectacular, and surprisingly different from each other. The big one at Bellagio is the classic: hundreds of jets shooting 460 feet in the air choreographed to music that changes every time. Expect crowds, especially at night. The Venetian has a more theatrical indoor version with live performers that feels completely different. Both run on tight schedules—afternoon through midnight—so you can easily see two or three in one evening if you plan your walk. It’s touristy by nature but still genuinely impressive the first time.
Best time is spring or fall when it’s not 110 degrees. Summer nights are packed and hot; winter is comfortable but it gets dark earlier. Expect to pay around $0–$40 total: the street-level shows are free, while any guided tour or elevated viewing platform with drinks will run you $25–$40 per person. Skip the overpriced boat rides that get you a little closer; the difference isn’t worth it. Just pick a good spot on the sidewalk 10–15 minutes early.
