Marine Drive at night is exactly what you see in the photos: a long, sweeping curve of yellow streetlights hugging the Arabian Sea, often called the Queen’s Necklace. A typical night tour takes you slowly along the promenade in an air-conditioned car with a driver-guide, stopping at a few viewpoints for photos. You’ll usually continue to Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Palace (from outside), and sometimes Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The whole loop takes 3–4 hours. Expect traffic, so the ride feels relaxed rather than exciting. It’s pleasant and safe for solo travelers or couples, but it’s more scenic drive than deep cultural experience.

Best time is November to early March when the weather is coolest and humidity is lower. Avoid June–September (monsoon) because the sea often sprays onto the road and visibility drops.
