Best time is spring or fall when the weather is decent and traffic isn't at its absolute worst. Summer is hotter and more crowded. Expect to pay around $60–$120 per person depending on whether you choose a basic bus tour or a smaller van with better views. Private tours jump much higher.

Pick an open-top or smaller vehicle tour if your budget allows—they're less claustrophobic and you get better photos.
