The two real choices in Warsaw are the 360° deck on the Varso Tower (highest in the EU) and the classic viewing terrace on the Palace of Culture and Science. Expect strong winds, crowds, and solid but not mind-blowing city views. Varso gives you a modern, glassed-in panorama from 230+ meters with clear sightlines to the Vistula and distant suburbs. The Palace of Culture deck is lower, more retro, and puts you right in the middle of the city with Stalin-era architecture dominating the foreground. Both are quick visits – 30-60 minutes is plenty unless you're a serious photographer.
Best time is late spring through early autumn on a clear weekday afternoon or just before sunset. Summer evenings can get crowded and hazy; winter offers dramatic light but you're often staring at grey skies and you’ll need decent gloves. Expect to pay around 50-90 PLN per adult depending on which deck and whether you buy tickets online in advance. Combo or skip-the-line options push it toward the higher end.
Pick Varso if you want height and clean sightlines; skip the Palace deck if you've already seen it from the ground – the view isn't different enough to justify both. Bring your own water and snacks; the on-site cafés are overpriced and average.
